Kandasamy Kovil

Located in the heart of Vavuniya, Kandasamy Kovil was built in dedication to Lord Murugan, the Tamil God of War and Victory. This Hindu Temple has a beautifully ornate gopuram (monumental entrance tower) and a gold-clad shrine in its sanctum. At present, many devotees visit the kovil for annual religious festivals, and on Fridays for poosai. The visiting times are from 7.15 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Men and women are encouraged to wear non-revealing clothing which is below knee-length.
