Four of Sri Lanka’s coral reefs have been declared protected areas. That is Hikkaduwa, Rumassala, Pigeon Islands and Bar Reef. They are under the Fauna and Flora Protection Ordinance which comes under the authority of the Wildlife Conservation Department.
