An amazing tall waterfall about fifty meters tall, situated in the middle of a very remote village called Mandaram Nuwara. The fall is about 40 kilometers away from Nuwara Eliya and takes about 2 hours to reach. There is a mini hike which takes about two to three hours which goes through the steep footpaths, plains. You can bathe in at the foot of the waterfall, be noted that the water will be freezing cold.

It is located at the foot of Piduruthalagala which is the highest peak of the island. Drive towards the Udawela Maha Vidyalaya till you reach an old tea factory where you can park vehicles and get on with the hike. It’d be good to go with a tour guide as the tracks can be confusing.

Mandaram Nuwara itself is an interesting village and known as a village which get’s sunlight only for a few hours in the day due to being surrounded by massive mountains including Piduruthalagala.

Make sure to carry leach protection, water and food.
