Sembuwatta Lake

  • 6

A small man-made lake in the middle of a tea plantation with beautiful sceneries owned by Elkaduwa Plantations. The lake is used to generate electricity for the nearby villages. It is possible to stroll around the lake, boat rides and zip lines are available. It's one of the places to hang out on an evening. The roads are rough to get to the lake, best to use a 4WD or an SUV with decent ground clearance. For forieng tourists, there are tuk tuk drivers who try to charge 20 - 30 $ per person to take you to the lake, don't be hesitant to discuss the rates and bring it down.
