Hunnasgiriya Waterfall

Sourced by a water stream from Hunnasgiriya mountain range, this is a magnificent man-made waterfall in Matale District. The waterfall is 48 meters tall. During the rainy seasons it becomes very powerful and incredibly impressive. However during other times you can swim in the foot of the fall which is surrounded by rocks. We recommend you to take leech-protection when visiting. This place has entrance tickets and opens at 8:30 AM.

Though the Hunnas Falls is a man-made fall, there is another fall called Ihala Hunnas Falls, which feeds water to a reservoir at the Hunnas Falls Hotel. This one is 50 meters tall, and many visit this place to take lovely photos.
