Pethangoda Katu Una Pandura

Pethangoda Katu Una Pandura is a peculiar tree that strikes travelers’ curiosity. It is identified as the only giant thorny bamboo tree in Sri Lanka, also known as Pethangoda Uyana or Pethangoda Bamboo Grove. Among the many beliefs circulating around King Seethawaka Rajasinghe’s tragic death, one states that it was due to a prick from a thorn in this tree.
